One of the first steps to building your Man Cave is determining what your Focal Point is going to be.  Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves, there are other items to consider before we get to this point.  When deciding that you want a Man Cave the first thing you have to determine is how much space you will have.  Man Cave’s can be any size ranging from a simple bedroom sized room to an entire garage, attic or basement.  Finding the space you need (or space allowed) is the hardest part to building a Man Cave.  The next step is to decide what you want to do in the Man Cave. This may sound silly, but there are many types of Man Caves.  For example there are your standard Man Caves filled with collectables, but it doesn’t stop there.  Man Caves can have different themes and styles.  These include, but are not limited to, music caves, home theater caves and war themed,  Back to the subject of this blog, focal points.  When you decide what you want to do in your cave, for example: entertain friends and family, play cards, watch movies to name a few, now you can decide what our focal point should be.  A Focal Point is the main item the Man Cave revolves around.  It is the first thing someone sees when they enter the Cave.  An example would be a Bar, Pool Table, Projector TV Screen, Card Table, etc.  Decide where your focal point is going to be in the room and build around that.  Always include a lot of comfortable seating or pick items that accommodate the theme of your cave.  So remember decide what your focal point is going to be and build around it.  Remember a Man Cave is never finished.  It is always a work in progress.  So take your time and have fun with it.  Cave On!
